Reflections Restaurant: Located in the main building, the restaurant offers a mouth-watering menu specializing in local cuisine with an Australian influence. Where possible they source fresh Kangaroo Island produce including the vast selection of premium wines. Reflections Restaurant is the place to come on Kangaroo Island for a hearty meal in a traditional atmosphere. With value for money meals, warm hospitality and spectacular water views over the bay, you'll come away with an experience you will never forget.
For breakfast choose from either "The Lodge's Light Breakfast" including Kangaroo Island yogurt and honey, Kangaroo Island Bakery toasts, cereals, fresh fruit, cheeses, fruit juices, teas and coffee or "The Lodge's BIG Breakfast" with eggs cooked to your liking, Hahndorf naturally wood smoked bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes (the BIG breakfast also includes the Light breakfast). A delicious and hearty start to your day!
Activities
Pelican Feeding (free self-guided): In front of the Kangaroo Island Lodge on the foreshore, watch the local squadron of Pelicans being fed some mornings at approximately 9:00 am (subject to feed availability). You may even get to meet Bump the Pelican, a favorite at the Kangaroo Island Lodge. So famous she even has her own Facebook page! (subject to feed availability and weather conditions).
Wallaby Walk (free self-guided): After a delicious dinner in Reflections Restaurant borrow a torch from reception and take a leisurely walk through the grounds to spot the local Tammar Wallabies. The Tammar Wallaby is a member of the kangaroo family. Traditionally a nocturnal mammal, they can sometimes be spotted during the day.
Breakfast with the Pelicans: Watch the morning Pelican Feeding on the foreshore in front of the Kangaroo Island Lodge after enjoying a fully cooked breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and KI's famous sheep's yogurt. Why not spend your morning feasting on your breakfast whilst enjoying the tranquility and peace of the calm waters of Eastern Cove. A great time to spot all the birdlife on the waterfront. What an amazing experience!
Sunset Soiree: Enjoy a stunning Kangaroo Island sunset whilst feasting on a platter filled with delicious Kangaroo Island produce such as succulent American River Oysters, all with a glass of Kangaroo Island wine. With views of the beautiful bay as your backdrop, share your experience with the friendly American River birdlife. A must-do Kangaroo Island experience, one that will be a highlight of your holiday (available October to April).
Fireside Cheese and Cellar: During the colder winter months, why not enjoy a delicious cheese platter and a bottle of local Kangaroo Island wine in front of the warm open fire. Lounge in leather seats and sample a selection of cheeses served with crackers (available May to September).
Nocturnal Tour: Visit Penneshaw's Little Penguin colony for a unique insight into the lives of these sea birds. On the way to Penneshaw the tour takes in some wildlife spotting including Tammar Wallabies and possums. The experienced guides at the Penneshaw Penguin Centre will take you on foot through penguin territory to see, learn and enjoy the Little Penguins and their families (not available in February).
