The stay

What to know about this stay.

True North Adventure Cruises operates two small expedition ships, the 36-guest True North and 22-guest True North II, built for activity-based cruising along the Kimberley coast, the Great Barrier Reef, Papua New Guinea and around the Australian coastline. North Star Cruises pioneered adventure cruising in the Kimberley three decades ago, and the line remains multi-award-winning in the category. As a member of Luxury Lodges of Australia, one of only 20 lodges nationwide to hold that distinction, the property meets the collective's exacting standards for remoteness, scale and genuine sense of place.

Daily activities are built around the destination rather than a fixed itinerary, scenic walks, helicopter flights, fishing, snorkeling, diving and shore excursions, often several running at once thanks to the ship's multiple expedition craft. Cabins run spacious for an expedition ship, with large en-suites, satellite telephones and in-cabin entertainment, and an onboard helicopter features on most itineraries.
Beyond the stay

Experiences nearby

Daily activities are built around the destination rather than a fixed itinerary, scenic walks, helicopter flights, fishing, snorkeling, diving and shore excursions, often several running at once thanks to the ship's multiple expedition craft. It's one of the few ways to see the Kimberley coast's waterfalls and gorges from the water rather than by road, aboard the 36-guest True North or 22-guest True North II, built specifically for activity-based cruising.
