Planning Your Trip

How does Swain Destinations plan a trip?

Your Destination Expert learns your travel style, dates, priorities, budget, and must-see experiences, then builds a custom itinerary using trusted local partners. The itinerary is refined with you before travel is confirmed.

How far in advance should I start planning?

For the best choice of accommodations, guides, and preferred travel dates, start several months ahead. Peak seasons, holiday periods, safari camps, remote lodges, and small luxury properties often require earlier planning.

Do you only sell pre-built itineraries?

No. Sample journeys show what is possible, but most Swain Destinations trips are customized around your pace, interests, hotel preferences, routing, and travel goals.

Can you help with flights?

Yes. Your Destination Expert can discuss air needs as part of the overall itinerary. Flight availability, airline rules, baggage policies, seating, and schedule changes remain governed by the airline.

eDocuments and Protection

What travel eDocuments should I review before departure?

Review your passport validity, blank-page requirements, visas or electronic travel authorizations, airline tickets, insurance eDocuments, vaccination or health guidance, emergency contacts, and your final Swain Destinations itinerary. Government and airline requirements can change, so use official sources for final checks.

Do you recommend travel insurance?

Yes. Independent travel insurance can help protect against covered trip interruption, cancellation, medical, baggage, and emergency-assistance events. Coverage terms vary by provider and policy, so review the policy eDocuments directly.

Booking and Support

What happens after I approve an itinerary?

Your Destination Expert confirms availability, collects required traveler details, coordinates deposits and payments, and prepares confirmed travel eDocuments once supplier arrangements are finalized.

Can my itinerary change after booking?

Changes may be possible depending on supplier rules, availability, travel dates, and how close you are to departure. Your Destination Expert will explain any supplier fees, fare changes, or revised terms before confirming changes.

Can Swain Destinations accommodate dietary, accessibility, or medical needs?

Tell your Destination Expert as early as possible. Swain Destinations can share requests with hotels, guides, airlines, and local partners, but final accommodation depends on each supplier, destination, and local conditions.

Who do I contact while traveling?

Your final travel eDocuments include relevant destination contacts and support details. For urgent changes or disruptions, contact the local emergency contact listed in your eDocuments and your Destination Expert at Swain Destinations.

Where can I find Swain Destinations forms or request trip eDocuments?
