Silky Oaks Lodge

Silky Oaks Lodge sits on the Mossman River just downstream from Mossman Gorge, on the edge of the World Heritage-listed Daintree National Park. Now part of the Beckons portfolio alongside Capella Lodge, Longitude 131° and Southern Ocean Lodge, the lodge reopened with 40 treehouses after storm damage prompted a rebuild, each with wide verandas and a spa bath overlooking the river or rainforest. As a member of Luxury Lodges of Australia, one of only 20 lodges nationwide to hold that distinction, the property meets the collective's exacting standards for remoteness, scale and genuine sense of place.

The Treehouse Restaurant serves fresh, local produce and Australian wine over open-sided rainforest and river views, one of the more notable dining rooms in Tropical North Queensland by any measure. Guided walks with First Nations Kuku Yalanji guides and treatments at the Healing Waters Spa round out a stay built around the rainforest itself.
