Day By Day

Day 1 – Welcome to Cape Town, South Africa

Upon arrival into Cape Town you will be met and transferred to your accommodation

South Africa’s “Mother City” is indescribably beautiful, steeped in fascinating history and pulsating to a heady African rhythm. Indeed, few urban centers anywhere can match its setting along the mountainous Cape Peninsula spine, which slides into the Atlantic Ocean. A ride in a cable car to the top of Table Mountain, a ferry journey to Robben Island, or a meandering tour through the Winelands will leave you in no doubt that this place is an absolute highlight on any vacation to Africa. South Africa boasts incredibly good weather, gorgeous scenery and fantastic beaches and is one of the most diverse and enchanting countries in the world. Exotic combinations of landscapes, people, history and culture offer visitors a unique and inspiring experience.

Day 2 – Cape Town City Tour

The beauty of Cape Town, aside from it’s spectacular views, mild weather and coastal location, is the proximity of multiple world renowned landmarks and wineries to the city. On a half day private guided tour of Cape Town city visit the iconic Table Mountain and enjoy a thrilling cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting. Venture into the Cape Malay area where you will enjoy a walking tour through the colorful Bo-Kaap. This area has a rich cultural, religious and architectural heritage, and is a mixed and cosmopolitan neighborhood with strong links to Muslim traditions and culture. Explore the historic part of the city with traditional architecture and beautiful company gardens.  This afternoon is yours to enjoy the facilities at the hotel or wander through the V&A Waterfront for some shopping.

Day 3 – Cape Peninsula and Foodie Adventure

The Cape Peninsula is exceedingly beautiful and offers a window to some of the most fascinating biodiversity on the planet. From the fynbos on the mountain side to the marine life of the ocean rock pools, there is endless beauty all around you. On this unique adventure, you’ll learn about all the indigenous edibles as you find them in nature and learn how to forage for them in a sustainable way. The experience involves searching the beaches and rock pools for edible morsels to be picked and collected for lunch. When you’ve gathered enough, you’ll return to the home of your foraging guide to prepare and cook a truly local feast paired with a selection of excellent local wines.

Day 4 – Hidden Gems of the Cape Winelands

Get off the beaten track with this unique and exclusive tour of the Cape Winelands’ hidden gems. Visit boutique wineries, taste exceptional wines and interact with local winemakers. This tour will take you to lesser-known wine estates that are producing some of the greatest wines these regions have to offer, all in a stunning location. Start your day on the foothills of the Klein Drakenstein Mountains at Lynx Wines sipping on delicious wines while chatting to the winemaker. Next up, visit Keermont Vineyards for a boutique wine experience. Stop at the quirky and historical Muratie where you’ll taste historic reds and port in the cobwebbed cellar. End the day at the beautiful Oldenburg with sweeping views of the surrounding Stellenbosch mountains. A lunch stop is included today (lunch is for your own account).

Day 5 – Cape Town to Kalahari

This morning transfer to Cape Town Airport to connect with your scheduled charter flight to Tswalu. Upon arrival into Tswalu, you will be met and transferred by open vehicle to your accommodation.  

Tswalu is a vast, magical land of infinite possibility, with sweeping vistas and a liberating sense of space. The green Kalahari is nature at its most diverse and surprising, and to spend time here is to be touched by exuberant, soulful beauty.

Day 6 – Activities in Tswalu Kalahari Reserve

Tswalu Kalahari offers an unrivaled wealth of experiences. Explore the green Kalahari and its treasures by vehicle with your field guide. Learn more about research in action. Tswalu is home to most of the "charismatic" African big game species such as lion, cheetah, wild dog, desert black rhino and buffalo, the arid habitat also supports a surprising array of smaller animals, birds and plants (there are already over 77 species of mammals, 240 species of birds, 42 species of reptiles and 4 species of amphibians confirmed as occurring at Tswalu). Activities include open vehicle game drives, guided bush walks and horseback safaris.

Day 7 – Activities in Tswalu Kalahari Reserve

Today is another full day in Tswalu Kalahari Reserve as you enjoy the activities offered by the lodge.

Day 8 – Kalahari to Kapama Private Game Reserve

Today you will continue your safari adventure. Fly by light aircraft to Johannesburg were you will connect with another light aircraft flight to Hoedspruit. Transfer to your accommodation, Jabulani located in the Kapama Private Game Reserve.

The 16 000 hectare private game reserve on which Jabulani is located, is home to an abundant population of the Big Five and ensures excellent sightings.

Day 9 – Activities at Jabulani

Spend the day enjoying the activities offered at Jabulani. Jabulani is based on Kapama, a Big 5 Game Reserve near to Kruger National Park. The lush vegetation and varied habitats of this balanced ecosystem means that it is able to support dense populations of wild animals, offering world class game viewing opportunities. A true African Big five safari experience, visitors will enjoy herds of antelope, giraffe and zebra grazing and congregating at the many waterholes, their senses alert to the threat of a hunting predator in the area.  Accompanied by qualified rangers head out in search of The Big 5, and the smaller - but no less significant - creatures that are part of an African Safari. Jabulani's rangers are consummate professionals.

Day 10 – Activities at Jabulani

Enjoy another day of wildlife activities at Jabulani. Not to be missed is the introduction to the Jabulani elephants. Their sheer size and extraordinary presence is humbling, one cannot help but be changed forever after sharing an experience with the Jabulani elephants.

Day 11 – Depart Kapama Private Game Reserve

Enjoy your last game activity at Jabulani before transferring to the airstrip for your light air craft transfer to Johannesburg Airport where you will connect with your onward flight.
