Swain Partners with the South Australian Tourism Commission: Wild Coasts, Fine Cellars, and Outback Ranges

Two Swain itineraries take travelers from the Flinders Ranges and the Adelaide Hills to the limestone cliffs of Kangaroo Island.

Swain Destinations and the South Australian Tourism Commission have started a joint marketing campaign to promote South Australia and increase its exposure with travelers and advisors across North America. Our Destination Experts built the campaign around two itineraries, one that spends every night in South Australia and one that shows how the state fits into a longer Australia trip.

South Australia Exploration

South Australia Exploration covers three landscapes in eight nights, with a different lodge in each. It opens with three nights at Arkaba in the Flinders Ranges, where the field guides who manage the conservancy's land and wildlife also lead the walks and open-top safari drives, and where yellow-footed rock-wallabies live around the Elder Range.

Travelers then spend two nights at Sequoia Lodge in the Adelaide Hills, with artesian spring-fed hot pools above the Piccadilly Valley and a day among the cellar doors of McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula, including the d'Arenberg Cube.

The trip ends with three nights at Southern Ocean Lodge, whose 25 suites sit on the limestone cliffs of Hanson Bay on Kangaroo Island. Its guided program can include Seal Bay, Remarkable Rocks, and Admirals Arch, along with Southern Sundowners at Grassdale as the kangaroos come out to graze in the evening.

Australia - Escape to Luxury

Australia - Escape to Luxury runs 16 nights and suits travelers who want South Australia as one part of a longer journey. Three nights at Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island and a night in Adelaide sit between Melbourne's laneways and the Mornington Peninsula, Saffire Freycinet in Tasmania, InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef in the Whitsundays, and a finish at Park Hyatt Sydney.

Working with Swain

Both itineraries can be adjusted, since our Destination Experts have stayed at these lodges and shape the nights, transfers, and room categories around each traveler. Through our relationships with these properties, travelers often receive amenities that a direct booking does not.
