Hapuku Lodge and Tree Houses

Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses was built to give guests a great night's sleep in one the most beautiful places in the world.

Located 12kms north of the world renowned eco-marine town of Kaikoura, on New Zealand’s South Island, Hapuku Lodge shares the land with a deer stud and olive grove, nestled between the Kaikoura Seaward Mountain Range and famed Mangamaunu Bay.

A contemporary country lodge, Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses is composed of four luxury lodge suites, the Olive House suite and five luxury Tree Houses built in the canopy of a native Manuka grove.

All rooms at Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses feature beautiful, custom designed, hand crafted furniture, tailor-made beds and mattresses, European style bathrooms with heated towel rails and floors and rain drop showerheads. The Tree Houses also have large spa baths and fireplaces and the lodge suites have Japanese soaking tubs.  Breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and surf washed coastline are seen from all rooms.

Their belief is that food should always be fresh, uncomplicated and flavorful. We strive to take advantage of seasonal ingredients, sourced whenever possible from local organic farmers. A full cooked breakfast and three course dinner is included in all room rates.

Onsite facilities: guest restaurant, 15 metre solar heated lap pool, pool house – guest change room/rainforest shower, in house spa treatment and mountain bikes.

Located 12kms north of the world renowned eco-marine town of Kaikoura, on New Zealand’s South Island.

Room Information

All rooms at Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses feature beautiful, custom designed, hand crafted furniture, tailor-made beds and mattresses, European style bathrooms with heated towel rails and floors and rain drop shower heads.  Each room has a luxurious marble bathroom with an oversize bath, heated towel racks, separate bath and shower, double vanities, detachable hairdryers and fax/modem lines for high speed broadband internet access.

Lodge Room
The Lodge Room looks out across the deer paddock and up to the mountains. It features an expansive bathroom with a deep Japanese soaking tub, and Hapuku Lodge’s custom furnishings -- including a custom-built king-size bed that can be split into twin beds.

Lodge Suite
Their three large, hotel-style Lodge Suites have separate living and sleeping areas, deep Japanese soaking tubs (with room for two!), rain fountain showers, fireplaces, and either a balcony (upstairs) or patio (downstairs) overlooking the deer paddock and Kaikoura’s spectacular environment.  Spacious suite accommodation, with separate living and sleeping areas.

Tree Houses
Unique New Zealand accommodation, nested 30 feet (10 M) above the ground in the canopy of a native Manuka grove, each Tree House has spectacular views of Kaikoura's dramatic mountains and surf-washed Pacific coastline.

Olive House Suite
The Olive House is their most spacious accommodation. It's the perfect place to unpack your bags and spread out a bit, even cook if you're in the mood, with room enough for two adults and up to three children. Just like home, almost, but with a much better view.
