World Class Fly Fishing: Tongariro Lodge offers the ultimate New Zealand fly fishing experience, as well as access to the best wilderness rivers and streams on New Zealand's north island. Tongariro Alpine Crossing: The Tongariro Alpine Crossing track passes over varied and spectacular volcanic terrain. In the presence of active volcanoes you can experience some of the Tongariro National Park’s special gifts. A cold mountain spring, lava flows, an active crater, steam vents, emerald colored lakes and magnificent views combine to make this a truly memorable experience.

Taupo Heli Hiking: Tongariro Lodge has arranged access to private land in the Kaimanawa Ranges through its close working relationship with its preferred helicopter charter company, and offers the most spectacular heli-hiking options in New Zealand. The Kaimanawa Ranges extend for over 50 kilometers through majestic wilderness south of Taupo.
Heli-hiking offers unique opportunities to walk amongst the completely natural and spectacular scenery at the top of the Kaimanawa Ranges and the Central Plateau without having to climb a mountain.
