The stay

What to know about this stay.

The Victoria & Alfred Hotel's Waterfront location puts boat cruises, an aquarium and free amphitheater shows all within easy walking distance, making this one of the more self-contained bases in the precinct. Occupying the former North Quay Warehouse, built in 1904 and named for Queen Victoria and Prince Alfred, the hotel sits right on the marina with ocean-view dining, a rooftop terrace and a poolside bar keeping most of a stay's activity on site.

All 94 rooms sit directly on the marina, now operated under the Newmark hotel group. A pool area set within a manicured garden at Dock House is worth seeking out for a quieter corner away from the Waterfront's busier walkways.
