Afternoon tea on the terrace at the Victoria Falls Hotel, looking out toward the spray of the Falls and the historic railway bridge, is the property's best-known ritual, served daily since it first opened in 1904. Known locally as the grand old lady of the Falls, its age and history make it as much a destination as the Falls themselves, a ten-minute walk away.
All 161 Edwardian-style rooms and suites were most recently redecorated in 2013, and being one of only three ISO-accredited hotels in Zimbabwe says something about the consistency behind the historic facade. A colonial-style pool, set discreetly away from the main hotel area, is worth knowing about for a quieter afternoon between sightseeing.
