Day By Day

Day 1 – USA to Sydney
Today you will begin your Swain Destinations customized itinerary. Please note, international air has not been included in this package price.

Day 2 – Cross the International Date Line
Cross the International Date Line, an imaginary line on the surface of the Earth that runs from the North to the South Pole - and defines one calendar day from the next. Crossing the International Date Line adds one day (24 hours) traveling west, and subtracts one day (24 hours) traveling east.

Day 3 – Welcome to Wolgan Valley
You will arrive in Sydney where you will be met by your driver and embark on a two and a half hour drive to Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley.

Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley
Australia's Great Driving Range takes you away from the bustle of the city, through grand mountain ranges under clear open sky, until reaching Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa. Just a two and a half-hour drive from Sydney, the resort is nestled between the scenic Wollemi National Park and the Gardens of Stone National Park. The Wolgan River twists and turns through the valley, creating a stark contrast of soft rolling hills and jagged sandstone cliffs. The World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains rise against the horizon, providing a breathtaking backdrop that can't be found anywhere else.

Constructed from wood and stone materials and designed in Federation-style, each of Wolgan Valley's Heritage Villas has a private aspect, offering those it shelters stunning views of the valley beyond. A private pool features its own deck surrounded by a garden of native plants and shrubs, and a spacious veranda adjoins it. Inside, a central, double-sided fireplace of local sandstone separates the bedroom from the lounge. Great attention to detail has been paid to ensure the fixtures and fittings are reminiscent of the Federation period; right down to the last hinge, light switch and glass blown shade. Warm, earthy tones and thick, neutral linens are complemented by locally-crafted wooden furniture that typifies the lodge's timeless style and elegance.

Day 4 – Activities at Wolgan Valley
Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley's engaging Field Guides can offer inspiring suggestions in which to see Wolgan Valley and the surrounding Blue Mountains region. Choose from hiking nature trails, exploring the countryside on horseback, touring by four-wheel drive, mountain biking through forests, or star gazing in the dead of night. These are just some of the many adventures awaiting those with a love for Australia's great outdoors.

Starting Accommodation: Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley (B, L, D)

Day 5 – Day at Leisure
Today is at your leisure to explore everything Wolgan Valley has to offer.

Day 6 – Wolgan Valley to Sydney
A driver will meet you in the lobby to transfer you to Sydney. The drive passes quaint villages and apple orchards, connecting with the picturesque Bells Line Road and into Sydney. Allow three to four hours for the transfer.

It is no surprise that when the British first arrived in Sydney they named the area Botany Bay. Even today, with a population of over 4 million people and a reputation for fun rather than flora, one is still surrounded by bush land in this bustling city. Native Waratah wind their way through the historic Rocks area, palm trees frame long stretches of pristine beach, and Eucalyptus embrace the endless and beckoning bays of Sydney Harbour.

Starting Accommodation: The Langham, Sydney (B, L)

Day 7 – Sydney Supreme - City Sights
Begin the morning traveling through the business district and shopping areas. See Darling Harbour and the vibrant China Town, then drive along Oxford Street with its trendy terrace houses and boutique fashion shops. See Centennial Park, a 220-hectare urban parkland in Eastern Sydney. Reaching the coast, you will see the beaches of Bronte, Tamarama and then on to explore the famous Bondi Beach, stopping to spend 30 minutes to walk the promenade and enjoy a coffee overlooking the beach.

From Bondi, continue along the coastal drive past Macquarie Lighthouse to experience the spectacular views from the Southern Headland at the entrance to Sydney Harbour. Visit Watson's Bay before following the harbor foreshore back into Sydney, passing some of Australia's most exclusive waterfront suburbs where harbor mansions may be seen. Driving through Vaucluse, Double Bay and the colorful Kings Cross, continue to Woolloomooloo and see the famous Harry's Café De Wheels. Visit Mrs. Macquarie's Chair, and return to the CBD via Saint Mary's Cathedral, Historic Convict buildings, State Parliament House and the historical Rocks district. Next, cross the spectacular Sydney Harbour Bridge to head for a two-course lunch in a harborside restaurant - soup or salad then a main course selection.

Your tour ends at the restaurant, with a ferry transfer to Circular Quay included at your leisure this afternoon.

Starting Accommodation: The Langham, Sydney (L)

Day 8 – Day at Leisure
Today is at your leisure to explore all that Sydney has to offer.

See the Harbour Bridge up close and personal by climbing the metal monolith and enjoy stunning 360-degree views of the glittering vista below with BridgeClimb as you climb to the top. Whether it is an early morning visit to the largest fish market in the southern hemisphere, or your very first surfing lesson on Bondi Beach, in this vibrant metropolis you will find no lack of energetic escapes and dynamic distractions. There are many ways to enjoy the harbor; on a small luxury motor cruiser or sailing yacht, to ferries that take you to Taronga Park Zoo or Manly, and the harbor suburbs.

Take the Darling Harbour Rocket that connects Circular Quay to Darling Harbour where there are many restaurants, attractions such as The Sydney Aquarium, Wildlife World, The IMAX Theater and the Naval Museum. For a more leisurely afternoon, take a walk through the Royal Botanical Gardens and Hyde Park, or learn about Australia's National Gemstone, the Opal, at Altmann & Cherny or The National Opal Collection, right in the heart of the city on Pitt Street.

Starting Accommodation: The Langham, Sydney

Day 9 – Sydney to USA
Today you will depart Sydney for your return flight to the USA.
