Day By Day

Day 1 – Fly USA to Brisbane
Today you will begin your Swain Destinations customized itinerary. Please note, international air has not been included in this package price.

Day 2 – Cross the International Date Line
Cross the International Date Line, an imaginary line on the surface of the Earth that runs from the North to the South Pole - and defines one calendar day from the next. Crossing the International Date Line adds one day (24 hours) traveling west, and subtracts one day (24 hours) traveling east.

Day 3 – Welcome to Queensland, Australia
Upon arrival into Brisbane, you are met and transferred to Spicers Peak Lodge.

Stunningly situated on a mountaintop in Queensland's Scenic Rim, Spicers Peak Lodge is as far from the pressure of everyday life as it's possible to be. Let your cares melt away in one of the elegant rooms, enjoy an award-winning gourmet experience, unwind in Spa Anise or choose from a host of invigorating outdoor activities. Here, in Australia's highest non-alpine lodge, relaxation and revitalization come naturally. By day, enjoy bush-walking and tours of the area, take a dip in the pool or a game of tennis. By night, sample fine food and wine or take in the brilliance of stars in clear mountain skies.

Day 4 – Spicers Peak Activities
Spicers Peak Lodge is the perfect place to relax and de-stress but it's also a great place to re-energize and reconnect with nature. So, if you're ready to get involved, there are plenty of ways to 'take it easy' around here.

Who doesn't love the thought of diving into a cool, clear infinity pool beneath a brilliant blue sky? You'll feel on top of the world. Or enjoy a game of tennis under the big sky or under the night lights. Tennis equipment is available on site.

Enjoy board games, card games, books, and billiards in our luxurious loft. Or play a game of bocce, croquet and quoits on the lawn surrounding the lodge.

Choose from six different bush walks on the property. Self Guided Downhill Mountain Bike Ride. Explore the eucalypt forests and bell birds. There are two tracks on the property to choose from.

Bush-walking tracks and mountain bike trails are a great way to get closer to the stunning scenery and local wildlife of the surrounding area. Add a gourmet picnic and make a day of it.

Day 5 – Southeast Queensland to Lizard Island
Drive Spicers Peak Lodge to Brisbane
The drive is around 90-100 miles. Allow at least 2 hours for the drive, longer for stops along the way or to allow for peak traffic. 

Fly Brisbane to Cairns before your flight transfers from Cairns to Lizard Island. 

Lizard Island
Lizard Island, Australia's most northern island resort, is renowned for both diving, especially the 'Cod Hole' where you can see huge Moray Eels and the famous Potato Cod, and game fishing for Black Marlin. Located on the Inner Great Barrier Reef, Lizard Island offers a private paradise in an exclusive environment.

The lodge appeals to discerning guests wanting to combine a nature experience with daytime water-based activities. Guests may choose as much privacy as they want; the activity generally centers around the main lodge building, with an intimate tropical atmosphere. You may choose from dining indoors or al fresco on the veranda overlooking the majestic waters of Anchor Bay. For a romantic interlude, dine on the beach by the soft light of the moon, enhanced by the delicate flicker of flares. The Lodge's distinctive cuisine is based on dishes featuring the freshest seafood and tropical fruits.

Day 6 – Lizard Island - Information
Renowned for its powdery white sand beaches and spectacular diving opportunities, Lizard Island takes pride in being one of only a few nestled right on the Great Barrier Reef. While the fish may not respect your privacy, rest assured the staff on the island will. Lizard Island seamlessly blends indoors and out in an elegant open plan design - the essence of stylish Australian beach-side living.

Lizard Island offers some of the best diving in the world, and with its enviable location right on the reef, spectacular diving opportunities are endless throughout this marine national park. Snorkelers are rewarded with coral gardens, brightly colored tropical fish and giant clams just moments from the island's beaches. Discover secluded, pristine beaches by foot or by motorized dinghy with a gourmet picnic just for two. Try a gentle bush walk, sailing, fishing or a glass bottom boat trip, or perhaps indulge in the serenity of a treatment at the luxurious Azure Spa. Lizard Island is luxury at its finest.

Day 7 – Day at your Leisure

Day 8 – Lizard Island to Daintree Rainforest
Fly from Lizard Island to Cairns and then transfer from the Cairns Airport to Silky Oaks Lodge. A representative will meet you at the airport for the one and a half hour scenic drive to your accommodation.

Silky Oaks Lodge
Sitting calmly on the winding Mossman Gorge River is Silky Oaks Lodge, an eco-luxury resort providing the perfect place to explore the abundant Daintree Rainforest. The lodge is built from sustainable materials and lives in harmony with nature rather than disrupting the habitat. Suites and tree houses are scattered around the property, and are comfortable and spacious with the lively sounds of the forest complementing the elegant tropical design. Accommodations feature everything from Rosewood and Silky Oak timber, marble bathrooms, terraced balconies and whirlpool tubs. The spa harnesses the healing power of water and earth for a variety of treatments, including clay masks and hot stone massage.

A range of activities are offered complimentary at the resort including naturalist guided rain forest walks through adjoining Daintree Rainforest, evening slide presentations, Mossman River snorkeling and canoeing, mountain bikes, Port Douglas morning drop-off and afternoon pick-ups, tennis court and Wallaby feeding. Day 9 – Walkabout Adventures - Half Day Cultural Tour
Spend time with a local Aboriginal tour guide, visiting many culturally significant areas and learning about the amazing relationships the Kuku Yalanji still have with their land. Learn the history, culture and traditions of the local Aboriginal people and the area.

Walk through the rainforest and coastal habitats learning about the environment, different foods and medicines utilized from nature, sample some bush tucker, collect shellfish and try traditional Aboriginal hunting practices, have a go at spear throwing and if you are lucky, catch a mud crab. To complete the adventure, cool off in a pristine freshwater stream.

Day 10 – Daintree Rainforest to Sydney
A driver will meet at your accommodation to transfer you to the Cairns Airport where you will fly to Sydney. 

Sydney to Wolgan Valley via Bells Line Road
A two and a half hour drive from Sydney, Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley is remarkably accessible yet feels a world away. This morning you will be met by your driver either at your hotel or on arrival at Sydney airport. Departing the Sydney area, you will soon connect with the picturesque Bells Line Road to Sydney's North West. Travel through the famous Blue Mountains, passing by quaint old villages and apple orchards. Continuing the drive, pass through the townships of Bell and Lithgow before heading east and entering the Wolgan Valley. Marvel at the sheer rock escarpments and rugged geography of this unique landscape.

Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley
Australia's Great Driving Range takes you away from the bustle of the city, through grand mountain ranges under clear open sky, until reaching Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa. The resort is nestled between the scenic Wollemi National Park and the Gardens of Stone National Park. The Wolgan River twists and turns through the valley, creating a stark contrast of soft rolling hills and jagged sandstone cliffs. The World Heritage listed Blue Mountains rise against the horizon, providing a breathtaking backdrop that can't be found anywhere else.

Day 11 – Activities at Wolgan Valley
Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley's engaging Field Guides are able to offer inspiring suggestions in which to see Wolgan Valley and the surrounding Blue Mountains region. Choose from hiking nature trails, exploring the countryside on horseback, touring by four-wheel drive, mountain biking through forests, or star gazing in the dead of night. These are just some of the many adventures awaiting those with a love for Australia's great outdoors.

Horse riding: From a lively trot or canter across the wide grassy plains, to a gentle ride through more enclosed areas, the sandstone escarpments of Wolgan Valley dwarf all below, putting the scale of things squarely into perspective.

Nature Walks: By taking to the reserve on foot, it's possible to explore the minutiae of the flora and fauna all around in a variety of relaxing ways, including recording your memories on film or canvas.

Mountain Biking: Ride fast and free, or pass gently through the wilderness by way of peddle-power, as the Field Guide leads an excursion through creek crossings, eucalyptus forests, wetlands and grassy plains.

Wilderness Safaris: With the aid of a Field Guide and a luxury four-wheel drive, a wildlife safari allows you to get out into the more remote areas of the reserve to experience the excitement of off-road driving and the wildlife of the wider region.

Historical Tours: Man's contribution to the history of Wolgan Valley is told through two very different perspectives, firstly by the ancient Indigenous people and their culture and most recently, with two centuries of colonial settlers.

Day 13 – Wolgan Valley to Pretty Beach
Your transfer will escort you from Wolgan Valley to Pretty Beach House. This transfer will take approximately three and a half hours by road.

Pretty Beach House

Pretty Beach House is Australia’s most exclusive Luxury Lodge situated just 65 miles north of Sydney on the beautiful NSW Bouddi Peninsula. The property is set high on the escarpment above Pretty Beach and nestled into the coastal Bouddi National Park. Guests are welcomed as if in a private home, where all meals and snacks and most drinks including wine and champagne, are included as part of the hospitality (cellar list additional).

Simplicity, elegance, service and superb food is evident in every aspect of the culinary delights of Pretty Beach House. The Main dining room is designed for relaxation and conviviality where all the senses and sensibilities are inspired, from the iconic Australian artworks, to the elegant table settings, sandstone open fireplace & grand piano. Guests are invited to help themselves from the fully stocked bar and relax before dinner while taking in the stunning coastal views.

With only 4 pavilions surrounding the spectacular Main House, guests are offered privacy with unsurpassed, unparalleled service. The pavilions Treetops, Bayview and Hideaway have views through a mass of ancient angophoras and native eucalypts down onto the sparkling bay. The pavilions offer king bedrooms with separate dressing rooms, open-plan sitting areas oriented to take advantage of the views, fully stocked mini bars and combustion log fireplaces.

The Retreat is the most palatial of the pavilions with breathtaking wilderness views. This superb romantic retreat is spread over two levels offering a separate living space upstairs with wood burning fireplace, flat-screen television, premium mini-bar, unlimited WI-FI and powder room. Downstairs is a generous king size bedroom with luxury bathroom including bath and a separate shower, with heated flooring. Outside your bedroom is a private heated plunge pool, double day bed and private outdoor terrace with tropical gardens.

Day 14 – Activities at Pretty Beach House
With seven pristine beaches and bays and many spectacular coastal walking trails, the NSW Bouddi Peninsula is a nature lover’s paradise. Enjoy typical Australian surfing at Killcare Beach, or swim at the southern end of the beach where the iconic red and yellow flags are. Further north is the glorious Putty Beach and coastal headlands of Bullimah Beach and Maitland Bay. The coastal bush trails of the Bouddi National Park crisscross through the National Park and arrive at all the idyllic beaches & bays. Hikers can enjoy spectacular views of Broken Bay and the Pacific Ocean as they meander across the cliffs and terrain.

Oher activities that can be had are a yacht charter on Broken Bay or perhaps whale watching for a day. Dive the shipwreck ex-HMAS Adelaide off Avoca Beach, kayak on the bay, book in for a bush tucker cultural tour, signature kodo massage or round of golf on a local course.

Day 15 – Pretty Beach to Sydney
A driver will meet you at your accommodation to transfer you to Sydney. 

Park Hyatt Sydney

Sydney Opera House - Red Carpet - Bennelong Cured & Cultured
You will be taken on a VIP guided tour of the Opera House, then at around 5.45pm you will be escorted to the Bennelong Restaurant for your pre-theatre meal consisting of 3 plates and 1 dessert per person. After dinner, you enjoy a performance at the Sydney Opera House.

Day 16 – Sydney Sights
BridgeClimb - Day Climb
The Bridge Climb is a 3.5-hour guided journey to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It takes you along the outer arch of the bridge on catwalks and ladders all the way to the summit, 400 feet above Sydney Harbour. In climb groups of up to 14 people, you'll be led by one of Bridge Climb's professional Climb Leaders on an adventure of the world's most recognizable bridge. The steady incline to the summit leaves you free to focus your attention on your Sydney experience, with opportunities to witness 360-degree views of Sydney, including east to the Sydney Opera House, west to the Blue Mountains and the Harbour city surrounds. When you reach the top, you will have a sense of achievement that you will remember forever - you've conquered an Australian icon recognized the world over! 

Sydney Afternoon Sights
A luxury Mercedes van greets you as you exit your morning Bridge Climb. Enjoy a quick, casual lunch to re-energize before getting back on the road, starting with Sydney's birthplace - The Rocks. See Australia's convict history chiseled into the old sandstone buildings. Up along Macquarie Street - Parliament House, The Mint, World Heritage listed Hyde Park Barracks, St Mary's Cathedral and the Great Synagogue. Wander the Royal Botanical Gardens. Cruise the stylish villages of Woollahra and Paddington - renowned for art galleries and specialty shops.

Head to Bondi Beach with its historic pavilion, Icebergs Pool and Coastal Walk glimpses. Want to feel the sand between your toes? Ask your host. The coastal views continue via South Head with a spectacular vista - the entrance to Sydney Harbour. Onto Watsons Bay before exclusive Vaucluse, Rose Bay and Rushcutters Bay. Finally, the historic dockside suburb of Woolloomooloo, before being returned to your hotel.

Day 17 – Fly Sydney to USA
You will be transferred from your accommodation in Sydney to the airport where you will begin your journey back to the USA.
