Day 1 – USA to Brisbane
Today you will begin your Swain Destinations customized itinerary. Please note, international air has not been included in this package price.
Day 2 – Cross the International Date Line
Cross the International Date Line, an imaginary line on the surface of the Earth that runs from the North to the South Pole - and defines one calendar day from the next. Crossing the International Date Line adds one day (24 hours) traveling west, and subtracts one day (24 hours) traveling east.
Day 3 – Welcome to Darwin, Australia
On arrival into Brisbane you will need to clear customs and transfer to your domestic flight into Darwin. Once you arrive you will be transferred to your hotel for the night.
Darwin - a modern gateway to Australia's 'Top End' - boasts a relaxed, tropical lifestyle and is an ideal base for visits to the spectacular World Heritage site of Kakadu National Park. Visit the Territory Wildlife Park, in Berry Springs, located just outside of Darwin to view wildlife of the Northern Territory in natural surroundings. Alternatively soak up the local culture at one of the markets such as Mindil Beach Markets held every Thursday and Sunday night from March until October.Starting Accommodation:
Day 4 – Darwin to Top End
Today you will board you air transfer from Darwin to Davidson's Arnhemland Safaris Eco Lodge, located in remote Arnhem Land.
Immerse yourself in a pristine wilderness environment where Aboriginal presence dates back more than 50,000 years. Ancient rock paintings in spectacular galleries depict indigenous history and aspects of Dreamtime, the spiritual foundation of the Aboriginal culture. The safari lodge situated in the remote tranquility and pristine wilderness environment of Mount Borradaile offers natural beauty, diversity of landscapes and abundant fauna and flora.
Activities include bird watching, billabong cruises, barramundi fishing, visiting rock art galleries, swimming in water holes, bushwalking, 4WD adventures, bush tucker appreciation, photography, exploring catacombs, investigating paperbark swamps and rainforest, wildlife spotting and viewing the exotic flora in this fascinating ecosystem. Or you can just lay back and relax in this peaceful environment. Day 5 – Birding and Wildlife in the Top End
Come and enjoy the wonders of Mt Borradaile, the lily-covered billabongs and waterways teeming with birds, crocodiles and barramundi. The adjacent escarpment hides well-preserved Aboriginal rock art in ancient caves and shelters, where the history of the region is vividly depicted in ochre paintings. Elegant hunting figures with spears and boomerangs illustrate life up to 50,000 years ago, while vibrant spirit figures and ships show the evolution of the world's oldest continuing living culture.
Arnhem Land is comprised of a variety of eco-systems including monsoon woodlands, mangrove tidal forests, grassy flood plains, estuarine environments, and coastal areas which encourages a range of bird species. Day 6 – Birding and Wildlife in the Top End
Find yourself at one with nature as you spend more time exploring the region. Arnhem Land is comprised of a variety of eco-systems including monsoon woodlands, mangrove tidal forests, grassy flood plains, estuarine environments, and coastal areas which encourages a range of bird species.
Spend your days on walking and 4WD adventures to seek out the variety of bird species that populate the area.Starting Accommodation:

Day 7 – Birding and Wildlife in the Top End
Your last day in Arnhem Land is at your leisure to enjoy the variety of activities. Take in additional birding safaris or experience some of the region's additional activities. Whether you want to tour ancient rock galleries, artifacts or catacombs, or try your hand at some barramundi fishing, you are free to take in the unique offerings of the Top End.Starting Accommodation:

Day 8 – Top End to Darwin
Transfer by air back to Darwin where you will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel.
Darwin is the bustling tropical capital of the Northern Territory. The city clusters around the beaches of one of Australia's finest harbors - Darwin Harbour, the playground of dolphins, turtles and cruising yachts. Visitors to Darwin enjoy a relaxed, tropical lifestyle, with wonderful sunsets, city streets shaded by palms, bamboo, mango trees and masses of flowering tropical shrubs.

Day 9 – Indigenous Wildlife Tour
After an early start from your Darwin accommodation, head on an Indigenous Wildlife Tour to Fogg Dam. On a drive along the low dam wall, look out across the expansive wetlands to see water birds, red lilies and perhaps a turtle or the mighty salt water crocodile. Then head to Adelaide River for a crocodile and birdlife cruise - board a safe, stable boat and see saltwater crocodiles and riverine birds in their natural habitat on the tropical, meandering Adelaide River. You'll be awe-struck as large crocodiles swim right up to the boat and use their powerful tails to jump for a feed, while raptors swoop low for theirs.
From here, travel to Didgeridoo Hut to see animals and plants depicted in the art of local Northern Territory Aboriginal artists at the Didgeridoo Hut art gallery - a bush gallery owned and operated by local Aboriginal people. Using traditional methods they produce unique designs for paintings, didgeridoos, carvings and hand-woven baskets which are available to purchase if you choose. Next is the Territory Wildlife Park, where you may have the chance to get a close up look at iconic and unusual Top End animals difficult to see in the wild. See a bird of prey show and enhance your experience with genuine indigenous cultural insights about traditional uses and stories of plants and animals.Starting Accommodation:
Day 10 – Darwin to USA
Today ends your journey in Australia's Top End. This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight to the USA, via Brisbane.
