Day By Day

Day 1 – USA to Brisbane
Today you will begin your Swain Destinations customized itinerary. Please note, international air has not been included in this package price.

Day 2 – Cross the International Date Line
Cross the International Date Line, an imaginary line on the surface of the Earth that runs from the North to the South Pole - and defines one calendar day from the next. Crossing the International Date Line adds one day (24 hours) traveling west, and subtracts one day (24 hours) traveling east.

Day 3 – Welcome to Hamilton Island, Australia
On arrival into Brisbane, you will need to clear customs and make your way to your connecting flight north to Hamilton Island. Your stay includes complimentary transfers from Hamilton Island Airport to your accommodation. Imagine over 70 tropical islands dotted around the Coral Sea, on the edge of the South Pacific. Lying in crystal clear blue water are hundreds of deserted beaches with sparkling white sand and safe, secluded anchorages. These are Australia's fabulous Whitsunday Islands and at their heart is the ultimate Barrier Reef destination; Hamilton Island. qualia (pronounced Kwah • lee • ah) is a unique Australian expression of world-class luxury, situated on the secluded northern-most tip of Hamilton Island.

qualia is embedded in 30 acres of tropical garden landscape on the northern most tip of Hamilton Island, offering guests the indulgent choice of 60 individual pavilions. Each pavilion has been erected with the least possible intervention of the surroundings and consist largely of natural materials such as roughhewn stone walls and hoop pine.

Day 4 – Best of Both Worlds Helicopter Excursion
Experience the best of Fantasea Reefworld and the renowned Whitehaven Beach in one memorable day. The excursion includes a 60-minute scenic flight, two hours at Reefworld including use of all facilities and one hour on Whitehaven Beach with picnic and champagne. Take off from Hamilton island airport, flying low over the Pacific Ocean to the Fantasea Reefworld pontoon. The next two hours is yours to explore the Great Barrier Reef in a subsea viewer, glass bottom boat or underwater observatory. You may also snorkel or dive (extra cost), before flying back towards the mainland, landing at the whitest beach in the South Pacific, Whitehaven Beach. Here, enjoy the calm warm waters and a superb picnic lunch, before returning to Hamilton Island in the mid afternoon.

Day 5 – At leisure, Great Barrier Reef
At your leisure to enjoy qualia and the Whitsunday Islands. Workout at the gym, take a dip in one of the two serene pools, laze in the ocean, or explore the tropical Great Barrier Reef at your leisure.

Day 6 – Hamilton Island to Adelaide (Via Brisbane)
Hamilton Island to Adelaide via Brisbane. Upon arrival at Adelaide airport, meet your driver who will be in the baggage claim area, holding a sign with your name. You will be transferred to the city by private vehicle.      

The capital of South Australia, Adelaide is nestled between the sea and hills. It is a graceful city of wide streets, elegant buildings and parkland. Adelaide is compact and easy to walk around. It is known for its refinement and has a charm and grace that shows in sophisticated wining and dining, and beautiful architecture that has been well preserved. The state of South Australia is home to some of the freshest food and finest wines in Australia. Adelaide has a reputation for innovative, affordable cuisine which, when combined with local wines, is a memorable experience.

Day 7 – Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
You will be met by your driver at your hotel and transferred to Adelaide Airport by private vehicle for your flight to Kangaroo Island. Upon arrival you will be transferred from Kingscote Airport on Kangaroo Island to your accommodation.

Day 8 – Private Touring on Kangaroo Island
Your stay on Kangaroo Island includes private full-day touring. Enjoy signature experiences which combine a range of wildlife encounters, some of the north coast and south coast landscapes, and an elegant barbecue at a private camp in the bush.

Day 9 – Private Touring on Kangaroo Island

Day 10 – Kangaroo Island to Coles Bay
Situated at the foot of the granite mountains, Coles Bay is noted for its spectacular coastal scenery and secluded location. Also boasting a plethora of activities that include fishing, boating, bushwalking and swimming, Coles Bay is the perfect place to get close to nature and enjoy the beatutiful island of Tasmania. 
Discover Freycinet National Park. Surrounded by azure bays and white sand beaches, this national park is home to the Hazards and massive eroded blocks of granite. The bay has fine beaches for swimming, good bushwalking and bird-watching. There is a wide variety of local flora (over 60 varieties of orchid), and the permanent inhabitants (possums and wallabies) are bold enough to take close-up looks at their human visitors.
Northwest of Coles Bay is Moulting Lagoon, breeding ground of the black swan, and along the northern coast are the grand dunes of Friendly Beaches. Coles Bay is frequently used as a staging point for those wishing to visit the Freycinet National Park. Three pink granite mountains (the Amos, Dove and Mayson) form the Hazard Range, a signature of the 11,930 ha. park. But the best known attraction is Wineglass Bay. Its perfect formation and white sand make it one of the most photographed natural features in the state.

Day 11 – Schouten Island Tour
Step aboard the Saffire vessel to enjoy a Schouten Island Experience - exclusive to guests of Saffire. Schouten Island's vast and abundant eco-system has played a part in early Aboriginal settlement, as well as farming, mining and fishing in the area. Now, it is part of the Freycinet National Park, a rarely explored, wild, unpredictable, delicate and unforgettable place both above and below the sea. Be engaged by close-up interactions with soaring sea birds, playful marine mammals and a diversity of life on Tasmania's temperate reefs. Behold the beauty of Freycinet Peninsula and discover Schouten Island on this memorable three-hour adventure.

Day 13 – Coles Bay to Melbourne
Transfer from Saffire Lodge in the Coles Bay area to Hobart by private vehicle for your flight to Melbourne. Your driver will meet you in the baggage claim area. You will be transferred by private vehicle from Melbourne Airport to the city center. 

Australia's second largest city (after Sydney), but is second to none when it comes to fashion, festivals and Sport. Set around the shores of Port Phillip Bay, the city itself is laid out in a large rectangle. She boasts a lively, cosmopolitan pulse, sitting on the northern banks of the Yarra River, about three miles from the bay. Visitors come for its shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Residents stay for its cultural diversity, passion for the arts and enviable sports calendar. Explore the famous laneways and arcades of the city, catch a tram to trendy Southgate, rub shoulders with locals at the Queen Victoria market or take in a show at the ornate Princess Theater. For a break from the hustle and bustle, cruise along the Yarra River or head out to one of the many beautiful beaches just outside of the city, or explore one of the premier wine regions in Australia, the Yarra Valley.

Day 14 – Private Lanes & Arcades Tour
Have you ever been to a city and wondered what all the fuss was about? Or wasted time trying to find that cool local café you were told of, then ended up missing everything? Melbourne's arcades and laneways hide many of these answers. Join this indulgent morning walk through Melbourne's beautiful back streets, and become orientated in the life of the city that locals love.  Discover local designers and specialty retailers that often are only found in the city. Some of the quirkiest cafes, independent designers, street art, architecture, and historical tales are found in these walkways, there is something for everyone, locals and visitors alike. A 2-course lunch with wine to match is included in this fully-hosted, 4-hour excursion.
