The first bungalow-style clubhouse was ready for occupation at the end of 1905 and since that time there have been countless additions and alterations to accommodate the increasing number of Members and their varying requirements. The links at Seaton has been the venue for many international and interstate matches and championships. The Club has hosted nine Open Championships of Australia and sixteen Amateur Championships of Australia. The Australian Ladies Amateur and Open Championships have also been played over the links.
Internationally acclaimed and ranked in the top ten in Australia, Royal Adelaide is as enjoyable a playing experience for the club golfer as it is an exacting and demanding test for the loftiest professional. Royal Adelaide has long been considered South Australia’s best course. The club is regularly ranked in the top 100 golf courses in the world Golf Magazine (USA) as well as scoring a perfect 100 points in the Rolex Top 1000 course ratings, and its 14th hole was selected as one of the top 100 golf holes in the world.
