Day By Day

Day 1 – Arrive in Mexico City

A representative will greet you in the arrivals hall of Mexico City International Airport. They will accompany you to the awaiting car and introduce you to the driver. Transfer to your city hotel by private vehicle.

Day 2 – Mexico City Southern Neighborhoods and Xochimilco

Today you will explore Mexico City’s southern neighborhoods that feel like small villages despite being part of the big city. Your guide will lead you through the the tree-lined streets of San Angel and Coyoacán and along the waterways of Xochimilco.

Walk the footsteps of some of Mexico’s most revered artists and writers, including a visit to Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul – a blue house where Mexican painter Frida Kahlo was born and later died, now a museum dedicated to her life. If time allows you will also have a chance to visit the Museum of Dolores Olmedo, a 16th century building with a cohesive collection of fine arts from Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, as well as hundreds of pre-Hispanic figurines and sculptures. At Xochimilco, you will explore the canals while floating on a colorful boat called a trajinera to learn about the Aztec’s ingenious technique for growing food upon the fertile riverbeds of the pre-Hispanic canals - the chinampas are still in use today but for growing flowers rather than food crops. Return to your hotel in the afternoon.

Day 3 – Electric Biking Tour in Mexico City

Today you will experience Mexico City like a local while you bicycle down Paseo de la Reforma. Every Sunday, this main avenue that connects most of the city shuts down to vehicles and gives preference to families and friends on bicycles. Your personal, bilingual guide will meet you at your hotel and you will head on the 2.5 mile journey towards the Zócalo while stopping at the most beautiful landmarks, monuments, and architectural highlights along the way. You will drop off your Electric bike at the Bellas Artes bike station and your driver will then meet you to collect your helmets and other belongings. The day continues in a walking tour and full immersion of Mexico’s Colonial and Revolutionary history in Mexico City’s Historic Center. You will visit the Palace of Fine Arts, the Metropolitan Cathedral built upon the main Aztec temple by the Spanish conquerors, and the National Palace that houses the murals of Diego Rivera. Once your exploration of the historic center of Mexico City is complete you will have lunch at a local restaurant (for your own account). At end of the excursion a private vehicle will take you back to your hotel.

Day 4 – Travel to San Antonio

Ahead of your flight, you will be transferred from your accommodations to the Mexico City Airport. Please be waiting near the front entrance at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.

Arrive into Colima Airport and make your way into the arrivals hall where you will be met by a local representative holding a sign board. You will be assisted to the vehicle for your private transfer to your accommodation.

Day 5 – Hot Air Balloon in Colima

Go on a once-in-a-lifetime exploration of Colima, enjoying a bird’s-eye view of the gorgeous pastoral lands in a private hot air balloon. Setting off in the early morning to take advantage of the still air, soar up, up, and away, drifting lazily over the undulating landscapes. You will be treated to magnificent views throughout this incredible trip and even get the chance to see a volcano crater. As you continue the journey, your pilot will explain the history of this regal mode of transport, and you’ll even have the chance to control the burner. After touching down, celebrate your successful flight with a freshly brewed cup of coffee or a glass of Champagne.

Day 6 – Traditional Mexican Cooking and Organic Farm Visit

Mexican cooking experiences don’t get fresher than this incredible farm-to-kitchen-to-table afternoon at Hacienda de San Antonio. The experience begins with a chef-led tour of the hacienda’s biodynamic and organic farms, which produce around 90% of the produce served at the resort. Learn from the culinary whizz, collecting new insights into fresh ingredients and listening to the exceptional efforts made at the resort to be environmentally friendly. After plucking your fresh ingredients, head to the kitchen where an expert chef will lead a cooking class covering traditional Mexican cuisine. Mexico has a long and storied history with gastronomy, and you will be part of that tradition, learning about the techniques perfected in the country over centuries.

Day 7 – Horseback Riding and Picnic at Epazote Lake

Today you will be transferred to Jabali Ranch for a thrilling horse-riding experience. Upon arrival, meet your steed, one of the ranch’s ten Azteca horses, and get equipped for the outing. Then, it’s time to ride. Explore the ranch’s bamboo forest at a gentle pace or gallop through a seemingly endless meadow for an exhilarating experience you won’t soon forget. This tour is ideal for first-timers and experienced riders, with suitable horses, guides, and trails available. After, head to the sparkling Epazote Lake for an unforgettable meal in a picturesque setting. Upon arrival, a picnic-style meal of delicious cold dishes will be set-up and waiting on the shores of the lake. Take your time to savor the feast while breathing the fresh country air. After, enjoy some time to explore the countryside with a post-picnic ramble.

Day 8 – Travel to La Paz

Ahead of your flight, you will be transferred from your accommodation to Colima Airport to connect with your departing flight. Please be in the hotel lobby 10 minutes prior to pick-up time to ensure adequate time to load luggage.

Takeoff to La Paz and continue on the next stage of your adventure.

Your private driver will meet you as you arrive to the La Paz Airport. Transfer to your hotel by private vehicle.

Day 9 – Espíritu Santo Island Kayak Excursion

Today, you may sea kayak or snorkel (arriving by high-speed motorboat) at Espiritu Santo Island. Along the way, your expert guide will provide an orientation to provide beginners with important information on safety and the basics of operating a sea kayak. Hop into the turquoise waters to paddle beneath volcanic cliffs until lunchtime, when a beach picnic awaits. A natural history walk follows and a ride to a sea lion island colony. There is no thrill like swimming and snorkeling among sea lions in the wild.

Day 10 – Whale Shark Snorkeling with Beach Lunch

Whale sharks are the true “gentle giants” of the oceans, the largest fish on the planet and these gentle beasts return yearly to the coast just off La Paz. This morning transfer to your private boat which will take you into the Bay of La Paz. On board the outboard skiff your naturalist guide will help you with fitting your snorkeling gear. Stop off at San Rafaelito, a small outcropping of rock teeming with marine life including juvenile sea lions. Here jump in the water to snorkel with the naturalist guide before making you way to Balandra Bay, a natural protected area and home to pristine beaches, mangroves, and stunning scenery. Enjoy a tasty lunch (dietary restrictions taken into account), explore the nature trails, and snorkel in the crystal water. The trip continues on in search of whale sharks. When you arrive to the observation zone, grab your snorkel and mask and get in the water with your guide to see the whale sharks up close. La Paz is unique as a whale shark destination due both to its proximity to the observation zone and efforts undertaken by tour operators, regulatory agencies and civil society to responsibly manage this extraordinary experience. During peak holidays when boat activity increases, explore the surrounding area by boat as you wait for your turn to see these incredible creatures.

Day 11 – Todo Santos Tour with Surf Lessons

Today you depart La Paz and escape to Todos Santos, a quaint, historic town located on the Pacific just one hour from La Paz. Your naturalist guide will accompany you on this overland journey, along the way interpreting the history and culture of this iconic Pueblo Mágico, its roots as an indigenous settlement, and the vibrant arts and culinary scene. Take a stroll along the coast and if you are lucky and in season (Jan-Mar), you may spot humpback whales just off the coast. Your guide will lead you through the estuary that is home to migratory and marine birds. After just one day in Todos Santos you’ll surely want to plan a return visit to this tranquil escape. Enjoy a surf class in the gentle rollers just south of town with one of Todos Santos top surfers. Kids and adults are welcome. Thereafter, continue to Los Cabos to your accommodation.

Day 12 – Day at Leisure in Los Cabos

Enjoy your day at leisure. You may like to relax on the property by taking part in a yoga class or spa treatment. You may also choose among great optional activities in this beautiful destination, such as turtle release experience (seasonal July-Dec), hiking waterfalls or navigate in a private yacht visiting amazing places such as the Arch and the Sea Lions Colony.

Day 13 – Day at Leisure in Los Cabos
