Hulbert House

Hulbert House is a beautifully restored Victorian villa in Queenstown, New Zealand, with a history dating back to 1888. Restored to its former glory, this historic property offers a picturesque and luxurious escape. With a prime location atop Ballarat Street, it affords guests spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu.

Room Information

Firth Grand Room
A grand room with color tones of purple, royal blue and pale green, the Firth Room offers stunning views to Lake Wakatipu and up to Skyline Gondola, whether you're writing a novel at the antique desk or reclining in the day bed. The Firth Room offers a super king bed, with the room accommodating up to two adults and a small child using a day bed with an extra person’s charge. The large ensuite has a separate shower and bath.


The Archerfield Room
The color palate of Archerfield premium room is gold and royal blue with white poppies and accents of red in the occasional chairs. Featuring lake views, luxurious linens, lavish décor and a rich gold drapery swath providing the finishing touch to the super king bed. The ensuite has a shower over the bath. The Archerfield room accommodates up to two guests.

The Malaghan Room
Stay in a premium room with mountain views, styled in black and white with accents of gold and slate grey. The Malaghan Room is on the ground floor of Hulbert House and features an accessible ensuite bathroom and a day bed. The Malaghan Room can accommodate a maximum of two adults and a small child using a day bed with an extra person’s charge.

The Boult Room
Our largest premium room with a garden view. The green and white themed Boult Room is highlighted with royal blue and crimson red details with luxurious drapery swathed to a crown style canopy above the super king bed. Boasting a stunning antique writing desk - perfect for the aspiring author, the bay window features comfortable easy chairs for relaxing in and enjoying the garden views. A cot is available at no charge for children under two years old, subject to availability.

Mason & Wales Rooms
Two identical premium rooms with lake views, located on level one of Hulbert House and accessed via the internal staircase. Both sport a crisp white decor with elegant trim in royal blue and a sunny yellow in the ensuite bathrooms with a separate shower and bath.
