Suggested activities for today include:

Reindeer Feeding Experience - Private Experience

OCOTLA is surrounded by wilderness and free roaming reindeer but there is also a private enclosed area where you have an opportunity to meet and feed the strong-minded but friendly reindeer. Finnish Lapland has a reindeer population of about 200,000 which means that more reindeer than people live in Finnish Lapland. Reindeer are semidomesticated, meaning that each and every reindeer is owned by a reindeer herder. The connection between these tough animals and humans is thousands of years old and in Northern Lapland reindeer husbandry is still a major source of income for many and closely connected to Lappish life.

Ice Fishing - Private Experience

Ice fishing is one of the most common hobbies for Nordic people in Lapland there are hundreds of fresh lakes and rivers where you too can try this Nordic activity. The beauty of ice-fishing lies in its simplicity. A session of ice-fishing could almost be counted as a sort of meditation. Whilst waiting patiently for something to happen – and often nothing does – your mind clears itself unexpectedly and effortlessly. Infinity and silence are the key factors here. Catching fish is a bonus, not the purpose. The basics of ice-fishing are very simple. All you need is a lake that is frozen, even two inches of ice is enough to bare the weight of a human being. Once you’ve chosen your fishing spot, you need a core drill for making a hole in the ice and the fishing gear to catch the fish. Catching some fish is largely down to luck, although some experience can be helpful in choosing the right spot - direction of the wind and understanding how the fish behave around the year are central to this. Having a warm set of clothes is perhaps the most important thing of all when it comes to ice-fishing. During your ice fishing experience, you can also enjoy hot drinks or make a fire and BBQ some local sausages. With your host, this is the perfect experience to sit back and soak in the beauty of the surroundings and experience is suitable for everyone.

Outdoor Hot Tub and Sauna
During your stay you have access to an outdoor hot tub and sauna. Enjoy a soak in a hot tub or steam away your troubles in the sauna.
