Things To Do

Bali allows visitors a myriad of ways to be as active or laidback as you wish. Certainly, many visitors to the island prefer to sun-worship, while others choose to indulge in activities as diverse as diving in the crystal-clear waters off Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, or perhaps a visit to the innovative Green School built entirely of sustainable bamboo about fifteen minute drive from Ubud in Sibang Kaja. Surfing is also popular at renowned beaches like Dreamland in Ulutwatu and Echo Beach in Canggu. If you’ve never surfed before, there are many surfing schools that will definitely help you hang ten with ease in no time! For those who like a rush of adrenaline, white water raft down the sacred and challenging Ayung River or horseback ride through the island’s famous rice terraces!

From the quiet black sand beaches and playful dolphins in the north to the majestic Gunung Agung with the mother temple of Besakih in the east, Bali offers countless cultural and natural treasures to discover and explore. Ubud, the island’s living, beating cultural heart is not to be missed, as well as the famous temple at Uluwatu, which draws numerous guests every evening for its kecak performances and the equally spectacular is the temple at Tanah Lot, which dates to the 15th century.

For those wishing to combine nature and culture, the Sacred Monkey Forest of Padangtegal in Ubud makes a dazzling day-trip from The Legian Bali. Alternatively, visit the famous botanical gardens of Ubud (Botanic Garden Ubud), from which you may get a glimpse into the diversity and lushness of Bali’s tropical flora.
