Day By Day

Day 1 – Fly USA to Thailand

Today you will begin your Swain Destinations customized itinerary. Please note, international air has not been included in this package price.

Day 2 – Welcome to Phuket, Thailand
Upon arrival, a driver will meet you in the baggage claim area to transfer you to your accommodation.

Although Phuket’s name is derived from the Malaysian word “Bukit,” meaning “mountain,” it is the island’s sheltered coves and long stretches of pristine beach that draw most visitors to its shores. The warm waters of the Andaman Sea beckon a plethora of water sports ranging from snorkeling to windsurfing and yield the best seafood in Thailand. If you can tear yourself away from that perfect spot on the beach, go on a safari and explore Phuket’s lush jungles.

Day 3 – Day at Leisure
Today is at your leisure to explore all that Phuket has to offer.

Day 4 – Phi Phi Island by Speedboat
This amazing adventure starts in the early morning as you set out by cruise boat from the Rassada Pier to the scenic Phi Phi Islands - Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Le, located about 28 miles from Phuket, roughly an hour’s boat drive. Explore the fantastic landscape of Maya Bay, where the Movie 'The Beach' was partially filmed.  Enjoy swimming or snorkeling with colorful fishes. Discover Loh Samah Bay and Pileh Cove with the option of seeing Viking Cave. At Phi Phi Don enjoy snorkeling or relaxing on a white sandy beach at Yong Kasem - Monkey Beach. Enjoy lunch at a beachside restaurant at Phi Phi Don. The island exploration continues to Bamboo Island where you have free time on the beach to relax, swim or snorkel. In the afternoon depart Hin Klang Island to return to Phuket.

Day 5 – Starlight Sea Canoeing in Phang Nga Bay
Enjoy an afternoon of sea cave exploring inside Phang Nga Bay. Discover the hidden wonders of Phang Nga Bay, including limestone sea caves and hidden cliff-lined lagoons. The experience starts mid-day to avoid the crowds, continuing into the evening. After lunch, which is served on board the boat, you will receive a briefing. A power boat takes you to the emerald waters of Phang Nga Bay. On your kayak, with an expert guide, explore the marine limestone karstic islands into “Hongs“(Thai for “Room”). The hidden cliff-lined lagoons are populated with macaques, water monitors, kingfishers, mudskippers, egrets, Sea Eagles and Brahminy Kites. The experience finishes after dark by floating your own self-made flower “Kratong” at a Loi Krathong festival followed by a delicious seafood buffet dinner.

Day 6 – Elephant Retirement Park
The Elephant Retirement Park was established to create a haven for retired elephants. The camps founder, Adulwit khamya, better known as Noi, created a sustainable habitat for the elephants to live in a safe and natural environment, free from profiteering and neglect. At the elephant park, family units are never separated and herbal medicines are used to keep the animals healthy, so they can enjoy a better quality of life. The Elephant Retirement Park has a strict policy in place to ensure the elephants are treated with care, therefore the park offers no riding. The sole focus of the park is to promote the well-being of retired elephants. Visitors and volunteers to the park can expect an enjoyable and rewarding experience working with the local Mahout’s to care for these majestic symbols of strength and peace.

Learn about the elephants behavior and how to care for them from the experienced guide. Once you have a better understanding of these gentle giants, you will learn how to prepare the food which consists of fresh fruit, sugar cane, etc. After the elephants have had breakfast its time for their "mud spa," change your clothes and enjoy play time at the mud spa. Here you will learn how to bath the elephant’s at the elephant pool. After this fun experience, freshen up and relax over a cup of tea or coffee. Enjoy a Thai buffet lunch before returning to your hotel.

Day 7 – Phuket to USA
This morning you will be met at your hotel and transferred to the airport for your departure flight to the USA. (B)
