Across the road is the National Gallery of Modern Art, which is a must for any connoisseur of art. It is hailed as the premier institution of its kind in India. Continue the tour to visit 'The Gateway of India', Mumbai's foremost landmark overlooking the harbor; it was conceived following the visit of King George V in 1911 and officially opened in 1924. A drive up to the Malabar Hill, to the hanging gardens, gives a panoramic view of the city and the major road known as the Queen’s Necklace, Marine Drive.
